Can an Instance be parented?

I'm trying to create a boss NPC that will be parented to a Tanktrain for movement. I'd prefer to keep this boss as an instance so I can easily reuse it in other levels. However, I can't see a way to parent an Instance to a Tanktrain. Does anyone know if it is possible, and, if so, how to do it? Thanks.

You can't parent your instance directly with your tanktrain sadly

yes, instances are "exploded" into the map upon compiling so they are not grouped anymore. They are almost as prefabs just with a name
